Joining Us

The Association welcomes applications from anyone over the age of 18 and currently resident in the village of East Leake. If you live outside of East Leake your Parish Council will be able to provide information about allotments in your area.

At present there are over 100 plots of various size on the site. If you are interested in renting a plot, please complete the form below to arrange a walk around the site with one of the Committee. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the association and decide whether or not you still wish to apply for a plot. Due to very high demand we do currently have a fairly long waiting list but whenever a plot becomes available you will be contacted to arrange a viewing date and decide if the plot is suitable for your needs.

Plots do take hard work and time to maintain, and require all year round sustained effort, especially when you’re starting out. The benefits of gardening, both from a physical and mental well-being perspective are well documented. However, before taking on a plot it is worth asking yourself how much time you have to devote to it? We ask that you consider this when applying for or deciding on the size of plot to rent. There is a one year probation period for new members. These are all things we are happy to discuss when viewing the plots.

Fees and deposits

There is a one off deposit of £92 payable on a new plot. £80 is to guarantee that the plot is free from any large items of rubbish, (but unfortunately not weed free) when you take it on. Providing that the plot is in the same or better state should you leave then the deposit will be returned to you. The remaining £12 is for a gate key deposit, again refundable on the return of the key should you leave.  The deposit will not be refunded if the plot has to be cleared by the association prior to re-letting.

Our rental period is one year from 1st Jan to 31st Dec. We do not offer partial rents, however, should you take a plot on post 1st Oct (i.e. after the main growing season) we would not expect the first rent until the 1st Jan.
